Chemo #3 - Half Way!

My third chemo treatment was yesterday and so far I am feeling similar to last time. I've got a big wave of steroid-induced energy that will most certainly wear off tomorrow. This will (likely) be followed by a tired, foggy, grouchy Sunday and Monday followed by a better Tuesday, and incremental (but noticeable) improvements each day after that. About two weeks after treatment I feel as normal as can be, and I am grateful for that.

My bloodwork on Wednesday showed that my blood is doing OK but my platelets were getting a bit low. This is to be expected, and can't really be helped. If they get too low, the consequence would be a delay in my next treatment, so I'm hoping this won't be the case because I'd really like to be able to stay on schedule. I like schedules!

My wishes for chemo #3

We have had a busy but uneventful last week. Science fair kept me busy on and off until yesterday. The long weekend was quiet but lovely. I experimented with some new-to-me weaving techniques to make some cotton dishcloths on my loom which was good fun, and am now plotting to make dish towels. Weaving distracted me a little from my knitting and embroidery, so I finished up a couple of knit hats yesterday and dug back into my embroidery a little bit. So many crafts, so little time. :)

I'm tracking my walks for the next little bit to share with the #EducatorsONTheRun challenge to walk/run/whatever for a mile a day from Victoria Day until Canada Day. We have walked nearly 37 km since Monday! I like following along with other educators taking up the challenge, and am super impressed at the VERY long walk/run streaks some of them have accomplished; some are approaching or may have already passed 1000 days!

Yesterday and today Martha and I walked downtown to some comfy lounge chairs where we stopped for about 20 minutes. I continued to listen to my audiobook while she romanced everyone who walked by. She got a biscuit from one passerby and LOTS of petting and compliments. She doesn't love long walks but I think she will grow to like this one because she loves attention.
